On June 1, 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a new Champions portal MSME. The full form of word ‘Champions’ is Creation Harmonious Application of Modern Processes for Increasing the Output and National Strength.
Objectives of champions portal MSME
The champions portal MSME is a platform that has been created by the government to support the MSME sector and here are its main objectives:
- Support: To resolve issues of MSMEs pertaining to raw materials, finance, regulatory permissions, labor, etc.
- Explore: To help MSMEs in capturing new opportunities including manufacturing of medical equipment and accessories like PPEs, masks, etc and to supply these in national as well as international markets.
- Promote: To identify and encourage MSMEs that have potential. (The ones who are able to withstand current situations and can become national and international champions)

Some facts about the champions portal MSME
The Champions Portal is a technology driven Control Room-Cum-Management Information System which will utilize modern information and communication technology (ICT) tools. The system is enabled by Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Machine Learning and is fully integrated on a real time basis by the Government of India’s main grievances portal CPGRAMS and by the Ministry’s other web-based mechanisms.
Another interesting fact about the champions portal msme is that its entire ICT architecture is created in-house with the help of the National Informatics Centre. The network of control rooms is created in the Hub & Spoke Model where the Hub is located in New Delhi in the Secretary MSME’s office while the spokes will be located in various offices and institutions of the Ministry in different states.
